To the audience:

My art is a self-realizing mirror. I hope that my audience will take an earnest pleasure in my work, and have some type of emotional resonance in it. I know that some find abstract art difficult to interpret; even those who enjoy it may be tempted to look for the silhouette of concrete images within the shapes. Nevertheless, I feel an acute sense of joy. As long as my audience does not see my art as dull, meaningless graffiti, then we can at least admit that abstract art is quite pretty
